Every culture forms its own biases. They are so embedded that we adopt them unconsciously and are often unaware that we have them. While we may believe in equity and justice, we still carry these biases with us in our speech, actions, and behaviors. How exactly they manifest and how much impact they have depends on how much power we have over decisions affecting those around us.

This one-hour program introduces participants to:

  • What implicit or unconscious bias is
  • Where it comes from
  • How it works
  • How it affects attitudes and decisions
  • How it impacts everyone around us

This program serves as a first step. We will provide a list of resources that can help participants become more conscious in their day-to-day interactions and inspire them on their journey to mitigate their biases.

Participants are encouraged to take the IAT, Harvard’s implicit bias test before the program.
